TPMS Issue

Recommended Posts

The TPMS warning light on my 2015 Silverado lit up and the panel indicates the left front tire is low. It shows a pressure of 28-29 pounds. Actual pressure is about 32-33. Did not change any tires and did not add air to any tire recently. I know nothing about these contraptions. Suggestions on where to start are appreciated. Thank you.

Time to either get your TPMS re calibrated or replace the TPMS monitor at that wheel.

Put air in your tire and the light will go off. Your manual gauge could be wrong.

I have like 8 different tire pressure gauges, none of the slide style read exactly the same. Bridgestone used to send us boxes of like 200 at a time when I worked for that shop. I'd break them or they'd blow apart all the time. More often than not they are sorta accurate but that's good enough.

Aired all 4 tires up to 35 and disconnected battery. Warning TPMS light is now out, but only one tire shows pressure (31). The other 3 on my display are just "dashes". My screen also insists it is January 1 and 35 degrees. It's been in the 90s here for days!!! I ran it about 8 miles but perhaps it requires more calibration to set everything. Am on my second display as the other one gave up the ghost about 2 years ago. Was out of warranty but luckily GM picked up the tab after alot of complaining. Hope I don't have another issue. Appreciate the comments and help.

I would do the battery disconnect again, but also turn the key on when disconnected.

youill have to rest your clock and drive 5-10 miles and your thermometer will readjust.  You may need to visit a tire shop or the dealer and see if they will rescan your tpms   Def sounds a little off.

Thanks all. Everything working OK now except left front reading 28 psi and the others 31. I'm sure there is 35 in each one. Checked with my motorcycle tires which I keep real close and also a second gauge. Light is off which is the most important. Has anyone used the available on e bay tools which allow you to reset your TPMS?
