Just installed s&b cai, and truck stalls out after start, when it doesnt it idles rough and sometimes kicks when starting to drive, it seems alot slower and is throwing me a check engine light please help! What do i do

Check MAF sensor.  Sounds like a sensor wasn't plugged in or is dirty.  See if you or a buddy can pull an error code from the ODB port.

If not, then you can try taking off the new intake and see if you get any errors with no intake (Just garage test, don't drive w/o a filter on there).

If that works, then try putting on the stock or previous intake and see if you get any error.

The idea here being to eliminate possibilities of error.  I would imagine it's a sensor somewhere knocked loose.

Scan the truck and get the code, that will tell you what the issue is for sure.

Either you didn't plug in the MAF or damaged it or you left something disconnected and you have a vacuum leak.  Its also possible that you may have damaged something else during the install process but those 2 are the most likely.

in the CAI intake pipe is two hose fittings to the valve covers, try disconnecting the two ports and plugging them with 5/8 water heater plugs from autozone.  this will stop any un-metered air from bypassing the MAF, then order a set of valve cover breather filters , install into valve cover ports.

dont forget to tighten the clamps around the tb and the maf

2014 Chevy Silverado stalls after K&N installation.

So, I unplugged the battery before i installed CAI. I bought new MAF just to make sure. Made sure all the bolts and nut are tight and wiring was snug. And still the truck stalls. Took it to Auto Zone to scan it and have it reset with out any luck. Put back factory intake and runs like nothing was ever wrong.

Do I have to reprogram the truck if I want to keep CAI? If so where can i have this done?

Make sure you installed your MAF sensor the correct way. If it is backwards, this would cause the vehicle to stall. Also, if this is the case, you must unhook the battery and let it sit for around an hour before re-installing the correct way, then start up the truck. Hopefully that is all it is.  Good luck....Happy 4th

Why even bother installing these silly accessories.  Just a waste of money IMO.  Went through the phase 25 yrs ago and realized the only ones benefiting from a CAI are the one selling them.   Its more eye food than substance.

Maybe you can sue them for fraud.
