Firestone Destination X/T

Recommended Posts

Goodyear trailrunners had to go. Though they have decent road manners I do take my truck off road during hunting season and whenever I am chasing firewood scores. I decided on the Firestone Destination X/T in stock size LT275 65R20. These are a hybrid tread with the three-peak mountain snowflake designation. They weigh 52 lbs a piece which is only 2 lbs heavier than the GY's. Tread depth is 16/32 vs 12/32 for the GY's.

On road hwy driving they are only slightly louder. They handle well around town and at parking lot speeds. No rain currently so I'll have to wait and see how they do. Limited off road use they did well. The below picture of the truck I backed up the hill in 2wd, no spin what so ever. Made in Canada but the tread spells out USA!

It must be the OP that’s posted on various YouTube videos about these tires and seeing USA in the treads. I can’t see that no matter how hard I don’t try.

That being said, it’s good to see feedback about these tires on heavier trucks. I really like the tread & sidewall pattern as well as snow traction reviews, but am a bit concerned about their light weight compared to other tires and how that may impact their strength.

No you tube videos for me. As for the USA you have look at the tread sideways to see it. If you look from the wheel looking into the wheel well after the shoulder blocks the first tread red block resembles a u, they center one resembles an S, and the next one resembles an A.

I currently don't have any worries about them being lightweight, that was one of the big selling points for me. 3750# carrying capacity and fifty thousand mile tread warranty which is the same or better rating and some tires weighing 14 lb more a piece. Time will tell I guess, only have a thousand miles on them currently.

I have these tires and have 31k miles on them.  I will be getting most likely 45 to 50k out of them.  They ride well, stability with my TT is just fine while towing, seem to be wearing great.  I most likely will be getting them again.
