rocnrol
Seeing the issues with lifters on the 5.3 and 6.2 starting to pile up. Is this something to be looking for with the 6.0 in the HD's?
CamGTP
Very rarely because they do not have AFM style lifters. The 6.0 still runs the same style lifters that date all the way back to 1997-1998 when the LS engines first came out. They can start to tick at higher mileage in some cases but that's no big deal. They suffer from other failures more than lifters. Like possible VVT codes, broken exhaust manifold bolts and transmission troubles.

Is this something to be looking for with the 6.0 in the HD's? No. 6.0s occasionally love to eat camshafts however. We just did a low mileage 2019. One of the back 4 cylinders, lobe was pitted to hell, I think had a lifter spin too. Not common, we've done 2 of them here out of all the gas HD we see. The "piling up" as of recent was due to a manufacturing issue on AFM lifters from about September 2020 to March 2021 on AFM/DFM lifters. 2007-2018 are there AFM lifter failures? Sure, but failure rate is still lower than what the internet makes it out to be. We've done them in that year range at work but I would say 85-88% of the trucks that come in have never had a failure.
