Replacing cluster with used unit?

Hello Everyone,

 

Has anyone replaced their instrument cluster with a used unit? Mine is dead and I am curious if I will be able to flash a used unit with SPS to match my VIN. I found one on eBay for a decent price that matches mine but does not have the all-terrain gauge faces. I would imagine I can just swap the gauge faces over to the other cluster. Also, I've heard that the mileage comes from the vehicle, not the cluster? Any insight is appreciated.

As long as it's from the same year truck and same trim than it would most likely to work.
