Sold my truck, post to the future new owner

Recommended Posts

Bought my 2017 Silverado new. Used car prices are out of control and sold it for almost what I paid new 4.5 years ago. This post is to the future owner.

VIN: 3GCUKSEC1HG190764

If the future owner stumbles on this post, shoot me a PM. I have the window sticker, receipts for the tires from Discount Tire, some other stuff you might be interested in. It was under warranty for the duration of my ownership including extended GM platinum warranty. No warranty work was ever done. The brake booster recall was not completed. No accidents. No prior body work.

To anyone looking at this truck, feel free to PM me. Tried to sell it on Ebay and Facebook marketplace. Few nibbles but no takers. I started at 43 and dropped to 41k. I sold it to the dealer to 37,500. I suspect they will list it at 44-45k or wholesale it for a quick profit. It was sold to Viva Ford in El Paso. The local GM dealer wouldnt match the price despite it qualifying to be a CPO.

Have not yet bought anything to replace it. Looking for a Suburban 2500 if I can find a good one.

You sold your truck for $45,580?!

I'd doubt that, that's retail price.
Still, kinda crazy! O_o

I’m actually thinking of selling mine as well. 2018 Silverado Z71 LT with 16,600 miles on it.

Well, since you edited your original post to delete what I quoted earlier, if you're selling, remember, you'll have to replace it for 10K more, or so, at current prices.

I edited before you quoted lol. No pun intended. Anyway, I did a KBB Instant offer and quoted me at $39,600, but a couple Toyota dealerships kept calling me that they will offer over that if I bring in my truck for them to inspect. Im stuck now. Sounds like it would sell for what I originally got it for.

Sure, but do you really want to do that and find yourself 10K upside down in a new truck?

I actually wasn’t going to get a new car/truck. I was…I am thinking of just selling it. I work from home and hardly drive anywhere except on the weekend to do errands. That’s why miles are pretty low since I got it with only 25 miles on it.

If that's what you want to do, now is the time ... nice truck, BTW! :)

Thanks! Yea, Im debating with my wife still lol. But I’ve put in $3500 in upgrades that’s its hard to let go lol.

Indeed, I had the Chevy dealership call me a few months ago to upgrade to a new truck.
I asked if they could cover the 8 grand I already put into it. (much of it dealer installed and even more I did on my own)
They mentioned I was better off with what I have. :)

Also, @BattleBorn iZ, remember, you will always need a truck, one day.
And the day you don't have it is the day you wish you did.
I used to rent a truck from time to time but after years of building big trucks back in my 20s, I knew I didn't want a rental truck anymore, I wanted my own truck and make it mine. :D

Ok now you’re making it hard for me to give up on big Red, but you’re right!! Even though I hardly drive it. I know it’s there when I need it lol!

I work 2 miles from my house, my truck rarely sees long rides, but I've used it for a number of hauling items for my home.
I'll be on a road trip to Colorado next month to help my Mom after my Dad passed away so I'm gonna put it through its paces. Gotta pick up some tool boxes and other stuff yet to discover.
You'll need a truck, one day, you just never know.
