Wait for custom order or pickup a denali tomorrow?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

New here...  dont have a truck yet.   maybe tomorrow i will.

I am in Edmonton area, we ordered a truck back in April.  was a Silverado LTZ with the tech package.  so, would obviously be delayed.   Order was never accepted by GM yet as of June 30 on the status check.

Talking with sales guy, they have a Sierra Denali on the lot with the engine I wanted.  the 3L diesel.   They said my order would be pushed to a 2022 model and still no ETA on acceptance for the order / build.  so, we could still be 3 months out for it.

Also, they said the technology package would only be available on High County and Denali trim levels.   In not so many words, made it sound like they wont build an LTZ with the tech pack and that my order would have to be modified.

So, we pulled the trigger on the Denali.     First new vehicle in 15 years.  so , hopefully it's a good one.

I am looking for other local Edmonton area owners.... who might be interested in trading front Grill's  .   i dont care for the chrome and will be changing out the denali chrome grill for Black.    so, looking to see if anyone is interested in a trade.

Home with new truck now.

there is a hell of a lot of tech to learn.

Congrats.

Really enjoying mine.

If you're new to DEF, and/or concerned about usage, do yourself a favour and go to a bulk location and to it off like you would a fuel tank.

That way if you are later curious (and/or concerned) about how much def it has used you can again fill it and do a hand calc.

Imho, all the level indicator does is confuse the issue.

Fwiw, I filled/topped up mine over 7000 miles ago.  Gauge is getting down, but truck has still not started with any of the warnings.

yes, i am very new to DEF.      i have no idea where a bulk location would even be.

neighbor runs a new diesel ( ford though ) , and picks up 2Gal jugs from local canadian tire.

i thought I saw some posts on what brands to use, but I dont know if there is much difference in that yet.  i have some research to do.
