TrainHorn Install All Under Hood

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

If anyone is interested in a more compact "Train Horn" kit that can all fit under the hood pretty easily, this one works.  I was able to install the whole shebang into the secondary battery location.

It's the Vixen Model # VXO8805/3118.  I purchased on Amazon.  The biggest difference between this kit and most is the tank is only 1/2 gallon in size.  You still get about 4 seconds or so, which is plenty!  The compressor can recover a completely empty tank in 45 seconds.

While this doesn't sound exactly like a train, it's plenty deep and loud.  It's not gonna blow your neighbor's windows out, but it is quite a bit louder than the factory horns.  The kit comes with everything you need, except a relay (you really should use one to switch the compressor).  I also installed some switches in the dash.  One powers the compressor which in turn arms the horn button.  If anyone wants any more details let me know.  Here are the pics!

i Managed to get my entire train horn kit into the engine bay with the exception of 1 horn. there was enough room inside the fender to get the 3 smaller ones, and the large i mounted sideways just above the front air dam.

the compressor and tank mount to the side rail of the truck, you can barely see it from the outside.

Do you have any pictures? On my 2016 I had mounted the pump in the aux alternator spot with a custom bracket but the ram air drain kind of gets in the way on this 2022. And my horns were mounted behind the grill but this one has the shutters that prevent that,
