Anacortes Army Guy
I recently had a GM performance exhaust installed on my 2020 1500 with the 5.3L. Specifically, it was the single side-exit exhaust option that GM lists for my truck, with the other being a rear dual exhaust, manufactured by Borla and stated as such on the GM website. No manufacturer is listed in the item description for the single side-exit exhaust, and though it's made with T-304 stainless steel like the Borla, it's not a Borla. I asked the parts guy at the dealership, and he stated their Borla systems come in packaging with Borla printed all over the outside, but the packaging for mine was in a plain unmarked brown box. There's no identifiable markings on the system anywhere to be found, though I did find what appears to be a part number on a section of the pipe. It sounds great, and it's only curiosity that's driving me to ask this question (that and a healthy case of OCD) - does anyone know who manufactures these exhausts? Also, forward of the muffler is a section of pipe constructed with what appears to be stainless steel webbing - can you tell me what function that performs? kenny_r
usually gm performance exhaust is Borla. Its been that way for a while. Before that I believe it was Corsa. That section of stainless webbing is a flex connection so the exhaust is not so rigid.
