Night time Running lights/ parking lights don’t work

Recommended Posts

Any idea why my night time running lamps dont work. The rear stop lamps work and the turn signals work but the running lights in the rear don’t work. I also don’t have any parking lights and only turn signals in the front.
I have a Banks pedal monster and have replaced the headlights and front turn signals with LED bulbs. Rear revers lights with LED bulbs as well. No codes on the dash. Just my running lights in the rear don’t work and my parking lamps/ running lamps don’t work in the front.

The problems are most likely related to the modifications you've done.  Do you know when the parking and other lights stopped working?  That is did they work after any of the mods were done?  You may have to reverse the mods and see if the other lights come back to life.  GM won't warranty the truck with the mods in place so it's on you to find the problem.  Replacing incandescent bulbs with LED's sometimes require a resistor in the circuit so the truck sees the correct resistance for the circuit to work properly.  That could be part or all of the problem.

Im pretty sure it was this way when I purchased the truck. When I first noticed it I realized I didn’t have the amber driving light or parking lights in the front. Then last night a family member driving behind us told me the rear night time running lights didn’t work. All other lights work fine.
The LED stuff I put in is all CANBUS compliant and has the required resistance for the system.

Take the LEDs out of the front.  Start with the park lamps.  Put the factory bulbs back in and re-test.

That was the first thing I did. That didn’t do anything to fix the issue.
The next step is to put all the original bulbs back in place and disconnect the Banks Pedal Monster.
I didn’t know if maybe someone has had this same issue before. I remember the parking lamps not working prior to my LED bulb install.

Not much else you can do.  Leave it in its original state and take it to the dealer for repair.  The warranty should cover it.

I am currently having the same issue what is the fix to this ?

Ever figure this out. I'm seeing same issue and weird thing is I have no Relay 35 in engine fuse box. I never removed it, but it states it is for parking lamps, yet it is missing entirely.
