Who else is dealing with the chip shortage issue?

they are giving you a $50 credit as it doesnt have AFM or DFM becasue they cant program it due to chip shortage, so they just delete it.

One thing's for sure, unless you absolutely need a new truck, buying one right now is not a wise choice imo.

And if you DO absolutely need a truck, you better get your a** in gear and find one. Because, as @SLTBlue posted above... this crunch is not going to get better for a while.

Has anyone had their event status code change to “MP”?  Presumably this is for “Microprocessor” but GM will not provide any indication of what it means beyond that in terms of timing or having the truck completed.

 

In my case, the event code went from 4200 back in February to 4D00 and now recently to MP.

Your truck is on hold and bayed for quality control inspection. 

The problem is semiconductor's not microprocessors.

The "MP" could mean Manufacture Problem since its on hold and bayed in quality control waiting for the issue to be addressed.

Thanks for the info.  The specific language I received from GM was that the vehicle is on hold for quality inspection waiting for a module impacted by the Micro Processor shortage.  So yea, it’s widely reported that there’s a semiconductor shortage.    But this is like the difference between calling it a transmission shortage versus a gear shortage.
