3.23s with 10 speed and 20” wheels, too tall?

Recommended Posts

so basically the 10 speed was hand built by jesus! Is what we are trying to tell you.  :)
( no disrespect to anyone's religion)

Ford is not my Jesus. I'm still undecided about GM though.

I’m looking at getting a ‘21 Sierra 1500 5.3L 4x4. Looking at 100+ SLTs on dealer websites I found only one with 3.42s and that had the 6.2 which I do not want. What’s the deal with that? No Max Trailering Package, except for the one 6.2 previously mentioned.

Anyway, before I try and order one, I’d like to hear from you guys with the 10 speed, 5.3 with 3.23s.

I currently have an ‘18 Silverado with 6spd and 3.42 (17” wheels) and it feels right. Seems like 10speed triple overdrive 3.23 and 20” wheels is getting pretty tall and apt to get luggy.

You might find the overall tire diameters of the tire sizes GM offers are closer than you think.

For 2021 Sierra, NHT is only offered on SLE, the 3SB version of the Elevation and the SLT.

NHT requires either the 5.3 or 6.2,

Of those 3, the 6.2 is only available on SLT.

Requires 18's or 20's.

Note available with X31 or 22's.

Looks like there may be some restrictions on ordering NHT for 'stock' orders as opposed to 'sold' orders.

On the chev, NHT is available on Custom,  LT,  RST,  LTZ and HC.

(also has lots of restrictions)

Tow mirrors are now available without NHT, and NHT doesn't include them.

Correct about tow mirrors. My Trail Boss LT came with them from the factory. NHT is not available on Trail Boss. Truck was built June 2020.

This is beautiful! I am always arguing with people on the FB 3.0 page and the know it alls say you don’t need 3.73  now that the 10 speed is available. Put a trailer or bigger tires and tell me the gears don’t help! Thanks

Fwiw, the 'diesel off-road package' (which is the only way to order LM2/10spd  and 3.73's) is only available on some LT and RST versions, and is not available with max tow package.

So far, the package is only offered on the chev.
