Running temp past 210 mid mark

Recommended Posts

i reccomend the cts-v thermostat 195 degrees, then drill a 1/4" hole along side its flange, for cooler temp

ive found the stock radiator is barely enough to handle stock HP at wot, i would like to install the max tow radiator after this one fails. its a bit larger

1/8 mile pull WOT sends temps climbing and takes awhile to stabalize. GM has been burning thier cars up since the  late 70's80's  keeps you coming back and buying the next model

Another option. This one uses a factory type gasket that does not fail like the others. No tune required. No hole drilling required.

But yes, radiator limited in most cases and fan switching happens way to high to be helpful.

I use an inline thermostat housing from IPSCO cut into the top hose close to the OEM housing which gets gutted and a Reische Performance 55 mm 170 F thermostat. Comes with the jiggle pin...no hole required. Same size used in SBC since they were invented. Stant has a line of various thermostats. IPSCO will provide the Super Stat of your choice with the housing and thermostat gasket and replacement part numbers.

I will because it seems to be the easiest piece to replace with the least amount of coolant loss. It'll probably this weekend before I can do it unless it completely fails. I'll update here when I change it and if it fixes it.

Did you ever figure out what was causing the issue? I have a 2016 gmc sierra that is doing the same thing jumping up to 230+ then back down to 210. Ive replaced the thermostat and sensor and still has the issue.
