TPMS sensors for aftermarket wheels

Recommended Posts

I recently bought wheels/tires for a truck I don’t yet have. To help keep the process easy, I had them add new sensors since I didn’t have stock ones to swap over yet.

Discount Tire had the right sensors. They were $40. They can ‘relearn’ the new sensors for you, or you can purchase the learning tool and DIY. I do my own rotations, so I already have the tool. I believe it was about $20 on Amazon.

If you don’t have a Discount Tire local to you, TireRack.com also has the sensors last I checked.

Was this for one of the newer 2500/3500  trucks we are talking about here? Did they give you a p/n for the sensors on your invoice?

Just buy some. A google search will give you the information that you need in two seconds. I’ve got two sets of wheels for my 21 2500 and both have sensors. One set are oem and on is aftermarket. Just find them on eBay and buy a sensor programming tool while you’re at it.

Yes, this is for a 2021 3500 AT4HD.  The wheels are by Fuel.  Size 20x9 +20 offset.  I point this out because some wheels have two valve stems to accommodate the TPMS sensor when there is a deeper dish/lip.

These are the sensors listed on my Discount Tire invoice.

Deadly. That’s what I was looking for. Thanks!!

FYI on my ‘16 Duramax I was the guinea pig for 2 sets of eBay sensors that didn’t work and couldn’t be returned so google can suck it. Closest dealer is 6 hours away. I wasn’t going down that road again.
