I've read on other forums that that doesn't help it either. But in my case yes, it sounds slightly different because it never starts on second try... i just have to wait it out (typically at least an hour) or try to pop the cables off the battery which isn't the easiest in the way they have it set up

2022 3.0 LT Trail Boss with 822 miles. Just happened to me. Just took delivery yesterday. Got some messages about service vehicle charging system, battery saver active and then check engine light. Stopped for fuel and wouldn’t start. Like others was waiting for tow truck when I finally got it to start. Drove it straight to the dealer and left it. What a mess.

I had mine get stuck with the stater turning over but not cranking. Did it three times over a coupleof months. My dealer had one of his guys increase the cranking by 2 more cranks and it has started everything ever since have 15,000 on it. Get 22 to 26 in town. 30 to 34 on the road. Can get 800+ mileson a full tank. Best truck I have owned.

Happened yesterday at Atlanta racetrack 500 mi from home. Finally started after an hour and 25 tries. Battery low warning came on I tried it so many times. Beyond aggravating.

I didn’t go through all 34 pages, but are any of you having this start problem gas trucks? Seems to be a lot of diesels. I’m ready to switch. Paid too much for intermittent starts a long way from home.

I got the same battery low warning after only about 8 tries. Not sure if it’s coincidence or not but mine started up first try after I “shut everything down”. Meaning I pushed the start button with no brake killing power and opened the door. No idea if all the messages we were getting are related or not. Truck is currently at the dealership waiting to get checked out ASAP

I tried several combos of starting with timing of button and brake, turning it off, open and close door, etc. I did figure out once it starts the long crank, double tap the start button and it will quit cranking.

Hadn’t happened in almost 8 months. Such a weird gremlin.

Consider yourself lucky. Had mine all of a day before it happened. Along with all kinds of odd DIC messages before hand.

I had the software update and reduced the problem by a lot, but still happened twice in 4 months.

Same here. Truck is currently in the shop. They are replacing the ECM this time…

Great question and sorry for the slow reply. I haven't visited this thread in a while.

I've been holding off because I wanted to make sure that the ECM flash does the trick. I have no desire to have to keep visiting the dealership to get every iteration of the ECM flash every time they think they have a new fix in place. Hell it kind of sounds like the there's still some uncertainty on whether or not the latest and greatest ECM flash fixes things. With that said, mine has been starting fine for a really long stretch, but within the last month it has happened twice, but has always started on the 2nd try and I'm grateful that it hasn't left me stranded.

Reading through this thread, it sounds like there are really two different issues out there:

(1) the long crank/no start but starts on the 2nd attempt and

(2) the long crank/no start with multiple tries/stranded scenario

Part of me is concerned that if they do the ECM reprogramming that I end up moving from a moderately bad (issue #1) scenario to a really bad (issue #2) scenario and I don't want to push my luck until the dust has settled and we have confirmation that there truly is a fix for this. I will continue to periodically monitor this situation as I'm sure that it will be officially corrected. The question is just when? And to be honest, I hope that they are putting more time and resources into resolving issue #2 as I really feel for those guys and am not going to b!tch about mine knowing that some have it far worse.
