3.0 Duramax cranks but won’t start

I have 9000 miles on the truck and the issue has happened about 6 times.  First time was within the first 400 miles.  Last time was about 1 month ago.  Had my 2021 GMC Sierra SLT 3.0 in the shop for about a week.  Dealership had no knowledge of the issue and I supplied the service bulletin # for them.  They dug all the way down to the "bent wheel" issue and visually inspected that it was not bent.  So that was not the issue with my no start long crank problem.  GM told them to put it back together and update the computer and give it back to me.  It's been 1 week post "repair" and has not happened yet.  Since it's intermittent I'm expecting it to happen again, but will probably be a while longer.  I think at this point GM doesn't have a clue.  I've reached out to other youtube people that reviewed these trucks/engines and had talked with the GM engineers in reviews past.  The YouTube influencers are now saying that GM is keeping tight lips on this one!  Just means they don't have a clue and they don't want the YouTube influencers jumping all over this.

Truck is still in the shop, been in the shop 53 days total, over 30 days this time. They have the front end tore off, engine tore out, said the cam reluctor wheel is bent.  I have been trying to get a hold of a manager at GM for days. I have a case and I have spoken to my customer service rep several times.  They have all my information. Trying to get reimbursed for this truck.  The customer service has been very unresponsive.

For those that did the buyback process, how much of the original purchase price did they refund?

Currently in litigation with GM. I requested full refund+rental+time and inconvenience+attorney fees.

Not speculation nor an opinion, just curious if this issue has affected 3.0 trucks assembled in all of GM's assembly plants. Our truck came out of Fort Wayne in May.

My VIN starts with a 3, I believe that indicates Mexico IIRC.  I have the long crank no start, and fuse box bolts way out of spec (not the issue evidently).

My GMC 3.0 was assembled in Mexico.  I suspect the engines are probably assembled in one or two plants and then shipped to the other locations to install them.   Seems like most of the problem trucks like mine were made in March 21.   It is pure speculation, but this is about the time all the car makers were running out of chips for their cars.   I recall from the early days of PC's that, in some cases,  the higher priced fastest version of the chip were identical to the slower clocked, cheaper versions.  They determined which ones to clock at what speed by testing them.    I wonder if GM accepted a batch of marginally performing chips to keep their lines running.  The sporatic nature of most of these failures could just be a misread bit of data that reads correctly the next try.  As computer guys use to say, "just a bit out of place".
