When does GM usually release the details of the next model year, and when do they become available?  I have put an order in for a 2021 AT4, but I am starting to wonder if I should wait.  I have read so much random stuff online from the interior being restyled, the exterior being restyled, new engine, new trans...

No way they are updating the exterior, that is only on the half tons. I have seen zero spy shots of heavy duty and if they do anything to those it will be a few years away. I bet the interior update will be a model year after the interior update for the half tons too. The 2022 half ton trucks are getting exterior and interior updates.

3rd or 4th quarter of the year is when you can likely expect to see 2022's on the lots. If it's anything like last year I thought they stopped taking orders around may/june time frame for the current model year trucks.

6.6 gas trans upgrade?

That's what they need.  Seriously, seriously looking at the Ford mainly for the 10 speed and some ratio options.

You placed an order for an AT4 in late March, there's a good chance your order will be canceled and you will have to order a '22.   Its even looking like my order I placed on March 9 will be canceled.

Factories are short on everything right now. Computer chips. Now I'm hearing EPA regs on the 6.6 gas and 6.6 gas engine shortages. What a friggin mess.

What's the story with the EPA?

This is unconfirmed, I created a seperate post to see if anyone else has heard the same,...

So since as of 3 weeks GM is removing AFM and DFM from certain 2021 trim 5.3 engines going forward. This in turn has hurt GM's overall emissions rating average.  So GM is targeting their worst emissions engine, the 6.6 gas, and temporarily halting production of it.
