Tail light cover

Has anyone had to replace a tail light cover on this generation Sierra? I have a 20 AT4 and got hit by a runaway shopping cart, busted the red acrylic on the light but everything else still works. Since it’s LED I am guessing I am in for an entire new light assembly but if there is a way just to get the plastic cover part fixed I’d be super happy.

Sorry to tell you, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to get the entire assembly.

Yes I don’t think you can put them in an oven to separate these days like the old ones

A cool idea but frankly spending $700 for tail lights is insane. I think I can get a local dealer to price match one of the online distributors so I think I am just going to bite the bullet and pay $400.

Yeah - but they always have deals this was 20% off so just over 500

And you do get what you pay for. Frankly I think stock replacements aren't far off that amount.

IMO get the part numbers and google it often times you can get the GM part for much less from secondary sellers. Also LKQ online, you can find junk yard parts, have found parts off brand new stuff that was crashed for cheap. Also ebay, amazon etc.

Thanks all - looks like the part number is 84831184. About $500 from most vendors online, can’t find much beyond that.

I didn't even think about it but I do have the set I took off. Mine's a Chevy 2500HD WT so maybe not the same. Lower model had regular halogen bulbs which I swapped out with LED's - but ended up changing to Recon's anyway
