AC/Delco PF44

For months now, I have not been able to find an AC/Delco PF44 oil filter for my '03 1500HD 6.0L at any parts shops. I do not want to go to the PF59 larger unit. Does anyone know if AC has discontinued this model that the users manual says to use?

Not sure why they stopped making the PF44 but it has been replaced by the PF46. This filter has a better fitlering media. You can get it at GMPartsDirect for $6.09 The PF46 GM part number is 25329389.

 

Curious as to why you don't want to go to the PF59?

 

If your interested in Wix that filter number is 51042. They are really good filters as well.

 

You can read up a pretty interesting thread at BITOG on this filter. They have some good info on what replaces it and where to get it.

Same question; why not use the bigger, better filter? There's really no downside to it.
