Bed Swap to a 2020? is it possible?

Recommended Posts

Ok guys question for yall. My 2011 Silverado 2500 8ft box has just started to rust around the fender wells. I was looking at getting it fixed when a 2021 new box take off showed up in my area. Now its more cost effective at this point to do a box switch. I know for the most part a 2019 bolts right up. With the 2020 model year the 2500 moved to an all new truck. Does anyone know how much modification there would be to get that model bed on the 2011? I know about the new electrical and would run a wire to feed power to the gate actuator. From looking at the bed i am thinking the issue would lay in the cab corners with the shape of the new box. As well as possible fuel neck. If anyone has any ideas please advise. Thank you!

Curious about this swap on a 2015-2019 2500, if anyone has info regarding mounting and fuel neck please advise.

Get a 15-19 bed.  The new style ones are wider and its gonna look like azz on an older truck.
