@JimCost2014 not in my case, the filter was tight as I tried to tighten it myself.  They claimed they have seen it before and that there are small cracks in the filter, said it's a known issue.  Only reason I used the dealer was it was free and I also needed them to program the keyless entry pad I bought afterwords.

Can you tell me some more about the keyless entry pad?  Is it a GM part and similar to what Ford uses?

@71_340 it's basically the same idea as the Ford keyless entry system, put it a code and it will unlock the doors.  It comes with 3m adhesive tape so you can mount it where you want.  The place the dealer will try to mount it wasn't a great spot in my mind so I just asked the dealer to program it and not mount it, so I could find the best place.  I ended up putting it on the inside of my gas tank lid so it's not seen.  It is a sealed unit and they say you will get 3 to 4 years of life out of it before the battery goes out.  Once the battery dies you just replace the whole unit.  It does require the dealer to program it for it to start working but for me I like the convenience as I'm in the airport every week and dont want to travel with my keys so I leave them in the truck.  The one downside is if you leave your keys in the truck you cannot remote start through the GMC app.  I got mine through a dealer who uses eBay but here is a link to one: 84182981 GM Keyless Entry Keypad | GM Parts Store

Well that explains allot, eh? Not that uncommon either. Purolator has a 'white' professional services filter us mortals can't get but shops can that is...well.....lessssssssssssss. WIX as well. So yea, I guess that is more possible than I would have thought or logic would dictate.

I found this very interesting:

* As of Q3 of 2020, GM has changed the PF63E to the PF63. You will receive a PF63 oil filter from this listing. GM's description of the changes and email to dealers is provided in the photos of this listing. The PF63E is no longer being shipped by GM.

GM's notes on the new PF63 design:

- Larger cross section gasket to improve sealing and lock seam geometry robustness

- Metal endcaps adhered with hot melt

- Leak tested twice, second time with the gasket installed

- Automated assembly equipment with error proofing

- Molded nylon center tube

- OES (service) filter to be same as OEM (production) filter

- Cleanest filter GM has ever designed

I guess they finally ran out of their free oil change filter supply.😁  Good find Bigblue, i would recommend anyone using the free change offer to make sure it includes this newer style filter.
