2016BLKGMC
I currently have the RC 2” leveling kit on my 2016 Sierra. Going to replace stock struts with 5100s next week. Should I leave the RC in place and run the 5100s in the low setting or remove the RC kit and set the 5100s on the high setting? Looking for the best ride quality. boettcher40
This^. If you really wanted to still have the spacer while upgrading to Bilsteins, just get the 4600 series. Completely defeats the purpose of "leveling" the front with 5100's if you're going to run the lowest setting with a spacer IMO. I have the 5100's on the highest clip setting and no complaints with install or ride quality. Definitely better than the stock Ranchos. Can you please help me understand what you mean by Bilsteins are "definitely better than stock Ranchos"? Better stability? More comfortable around town? Better offroading? I just bought at 2021 GMC Sierra SLT and trying to figure out whether to do 3" Rancho lift (3" front, 1.5" rear) or 3" Superlift w/ rear Bilstein or 2" GM factory lift (Rancho) with 1" front spacer to not void my warranty. Or something I haven't thought of. I do 95% city/highway miles and periodically take in the woods during hunting season, so I'd rather have comfort than a stiff shock. Please help! Better in all aspects. No more rear end hopping over railroad tracks/large potholes, small bumps and cracks are less noticeable, overall comfort and stability around corners. Keep in mind my OEM Ranchos had 100k on them so they weren't in the best shape. It still rides like a truck, so don't expect dramatic results from a sub $500 suspension set. There are numerous guys who love their Fox 2.0's or King coilover setup up front. My dad has a stock '21 AT4 and that thing handles like a dream on the highway and on the trail. Hope this helps a bit.
