2019 2020 Silverado 6.2 Supercharger Build

Recommended Posts

And I actually agree with you. I’m going with an Edelbrock engine to start. It’s reasonably powerful (ok very powerful), I know it’s well built and it comes with a 2 year warranty. I’m sure I’ll start modding it out after the 2 years are up.  BUT I know there are builders out there that can build more powerful engines at the same or better quality for less money.

Which Edelbrock are you going with?  They have some bad-ass engines in the 650-700 HP range with EFI.  Just curious.

I'm not worried about warranty. Id rather build it my way. If i blow an engine, just a great excuse to pull it and build it back bulletproof. And still cheaper than callaway/hennessey. To each their own tho.

HP tuners ecm is on the way. Ill probably get the Whipple on in the next few weeks.

I am in the same boat as you. I have a 2015 Silverado and am looking at doing the procharger or the Armageddon twin turbo kit. If procharger I am looking at the D1-X or F1A-94 ( future plans are for a 427 ). Between the procharger kits or twins is only about $1,000 at the end of the day and that’s counting buying headers and Y-Pipe for procharger set up.

Truthfully I think it’s between the F1A-94 and twins lol.

The problem with shops like Callaway, Roush, Hennessy and others is you’re paying for the name. That’s great if you want their name plate on your truck but there are better options out there at a fraction of the price.

I was really set on going Callaway but I changed my mind for a couple of reasons...

  • Didn't want to wait
  • Didn't want to take the truck to CA or CT
  • $10k for the Whipple, installed

I ordered the Whipple yesterday.  I am trying to decide what is the most complimentary exhaust to go with it.  Also, where is a good place to find an extra ECU?

I got my ecu from gmpartswarehouse.com

Shipped fast and was as good or better than ebay pricing.

I have the gm performance exhaust. I like it. Could be a little louder for me, but is good for everyday driver.

My whipple is on order, just playing the waiting game.

Any one have thoughts on whether long tube headers are worth it? Kind of a pain to install them.

I put the ATAK on mine as I wanted it a bit louder. Its louder than I expected but I really like it. its still pretty mellow when just cruising around.

Where did you get your ECU?

My tuner who did the install got it for me. He said it wasn't the easiest thing to find, GM is somewhat protective of them, they resist just selling them to anyone. I believe he got it through a local dealership by calling in a favor.

I decided to go with the Borla S-Type with the “True Dual” set-up.  I was going to go with the Touring but wanted a little more of that good noise!

I am going to look for an ECU but it will be a few months before the SC gets here, so no rush.

I also did the S-type exhaust with an aFe CAI.  Love the sound.
