At what point do you take truck in for loud lifter noise( every time I take truck in a certain dealership just tells me that whatever issue I'm having that that's just how these trucks run)

I traded truck in got used last year with alot of issues tranny, infotainment, park assist...

I deleted afm b/c it has dual borla exhaust and sounded terrible in v4.

It seams like the lifters are always louder while at idle now, can I run a different oil or additive to quite them down?

I'm sure if I take to same dealership it'll be" normal" as this seams to be there go to thing to tell me since I purchased a extended warranty i feel as tho this is there way of getting out of looking at anything...

The service department told me they want to find and fix issues with vehicles b/c that's how they make alot of money?( Sounds off to me)

Last time there I said I'm taking it to a different dealer, he replied" they will tell you same thing"

?

Feel like I'm getting run around since I gave them my money for extended warranty?

Its in their best interest to only repair vehicles that don't run properly. This saved that profit they made off the extended warranty. So yea they are pushing you off and sounding like they are trying to help.

You turned AFM off said parts are still there. When it comes time just go all aftermarket parts and be done with it.

So you had a tuner turn the AFM off correct? That means the lifters cam and associated parts are still in the vehicle. And still liable to fail.. Hence loud lifter noises. "If" that is what your experiencing.

I couldn't tell ya how to go about getting GM to fix your issue as I do my own. Even when mine was under warranty. Trust issues...

I honestly think it would not of made a difference as the same parts inside the engine are still installed. There are threads here where guys turned off the AFM and still had lifter failures and rightfully so as the parts that make it all happen are still used in the engine.

Like I always say its just a matter of when these fail. Kinda like "Wait for it..."

So I may just try a new dealer to see if there more thorough and not give me runaround speech... If lifter collapsed will I get a engine code?

I would assume so as the cylinder Associated will not be able to function as designed. As seen in this vid. ? Same thing only one camshaft.

I did a full afm delete with non afm cam, LS7 lifter, new trays, new head gaskets, new head bolts, did the oil blockers to save $$$ haven’t had a issue, I got a code that cylinder #7 was misfiring also went in limp mod, I spent about 1800$-2000$ can remember but closer to the 2000$ mark with the new fluids and tuneB83F0054-31B2-4B2C-83D3-72C7102FDD23.thumb.jpeg.838d6db10cdc7e88a970e01b09dbafb4.jpeg

How long did it take you to do?  I got quoted $6700 to install a stage 2 cam with the DOD delete kit at my local performance shop.

I paid some youngster from Fort Worth that worked at the Chevy house, he charged me 500$ for labor plus the fluids (let’s say another 100$) he did it over the weekend at his house. I supplied all my parts, at the time I didn’t want to change the stall if I got a different cam, so I kept the cam close to oem/ factory specs without the afm/dod. Lifter 7# collapsed 2 months after putting 5000$ down on it so money was very tight at the time and didn’t have warranty on it
