2021 GMC 2500 AT4 w/6'10" Bed and factory puck system - Do I need a slider hitch?

Recommended Posts

Hi there, curious if anyone has a similar vehicle (I assume this would cover 2020-2021 GM Trucks) with a 6'10" "Regular" size bed (not the short bed (~5'8") or long box (~8'). This is about 4" longer than previous "Regular" boxes - curious if this is enough of a gap to eliminate the necessity of a slide hitch. I would like to avoid it if I can, but I do have a rather sharp turn into my driveway and am getting a ~42' fifth wheel so I'd like to be able to safely reach 90 degrees if I absolutely had to. Thoughts? I've seen a few other forums, but they seemed to point to either 6.5' boxes or non-factory "puck" systems. Ideally, I'm hoping someone out there can share their experience with a close setup to mine.
