What Jack Stands Do You Use?

Recommended Posts

I’m looking for some new jack stands and I’d rather be over safe than cheap. What do you use?

I came across these by US Jack but not seeing tons of reviews. Wondering what others are trusting.

Thanks!

I have some old beefy craftsman 3 ton stands, probably about 20-25 years old by now.

If I had to get new ones I'd go with the Carlyle 4 ton stands from Napa, they are good stands for what they are.

Two sets of Craftsman 3 ton jack stands (one standard height, one high height) and a 3 ton Craftsman floor jack, over ten years old now, still work good.

From a safety prospective 6 ton jack stands. It's better to over do it.

From a practical approach the 6 ton jack stands are bigger and reach up higher so they are better for lifting a 4x4 with the off road package.

For oil changes or general things I put the fronts up on on 12,000lbs wide ramps then the 6 ton under the rear axles.

The truck is as stable in this configuration as it is sitting on the ground.

Where do you place a jack stand in the front?  If I use a bottle jack at the designated lift point as prescribed by the manufacturer, can I place a jack stand to the rear of that point without damaging the truck?

This is what I have for stands:

And I had this already, so didn't go up in hydraulic jack, works just fine.

But, last summer I ended up buying this instead(killer price at the time $1K), I still place my jack stands under for 'just in case' :).
