Extended Slip Yoke or Extended Drive Shaft?

Recommended Posts

I have a Cognito 10-12" lift with 8" Deaver springs on a 2" blocks in the rear. With that high of a lift I know I need to extend my drive line.  I got a quote of $800 to extend my rear drive shaft an additional 2".  Has anyone installed a longer slip yoke instead of extended their drive shaft?  Found an 8" slip yoke from Speedway and I was wondering if anyone has gone this route.

Nice bike. Devil's Tower?
Are you 100% sure you need to lengthen it?
I don't know the answer but I'm running a McGaughys 9" lift.
In the rear I have the huge 6" block and an add a leaf with a 1.5" lift shackle and my driveshaft is stock.

Well, when I installed the deaver springs the instructions recommends the drive shaft be lengthened.  Rear is lifted a true 10 inches from stock.  I just wanna be sure that I can tow my travel trailer and off road without my drive shaft falling out...
