Inventory and ordering lead times

FYI,

Just in case anyone is looking, there's a nice Custom just like mine at the same dealership where I got mine. She's a Custom gasser but, also has the Safety Confidence Package- that gives you audio controls and the ability to access the dic on the steering wheel, also has skid plates and of course gooseneck Package.

Color is Silver Ice Metallic - Jim Cook Chevy, Buick, GMC - Marion, NC

I went to the dealer this weekend and had them type up my order for a 3500 HD CCLB. Sales guy said he can place orders on Tuesday and Thursday. I guess I will find out soon enough. I was told 6-10 weeks. This was on 2/6/21.

The dealer called back a little later to tell me that it doesn't have the 4" black- round assist steps (RVS) because they are on back-order.  He said they will come in at a later date but does not know when.  This probably explains why I noticed a build code of 2030, maybe he took them off to speed up the process LOL.  I do not mind and will be pulling a full build with the VIN from GM to see all the build codes just to double check, and I will make sure to have something in writing as well.  I am just glad it did not take too much time from start to finish and have it before camping season starts up.  I will be picking her up this Friday.

Maybe some of you who have been waiting for a long time could ask your dealer to do this as well if b/o parts are part of the problem?  Just a thought.

I got news today that mine is at 3000 with an expected production week of 4/26.  How long does it usually take once it is in that production week?

Sounds like your dealer is on top of things. I placed an order last week as well (3/17), and made sure to confirm the dealer had an allocation, but GM still has not accepted the order as of today. Maybe my dealer misinformed me that they actually had an allocation?

LPO,  Assist steps - 4" Black - round, (dealer-installed)

They are shipped to the dealer so as to arrive just in time.  They do not come from the assembly plant and won' delay the vehicle build.

A Limited Production Option (LPO) is a preordered option that includes a single accessory or a collection of accessories that are part of a special package.

you at 1100 or 2000??  It could take a few weeks even with allocation to get to 3000.  Updates are on Thursday,  when that occurs in the system on Thursday I do not know,  based off most systems its either midnight or usually like 6-7am.  So depends on when you asked or were told today or were you even told today

I was told it is at 1100, and that I could contact the dealer for more information. This was today, maybe around 9 am EDT.

if you used GM chat they are behind.  For what it is worth my dealer emails weekly at around 1300 EST.  If it were me and the dealer didnt update me I would probably ask on Friday morning or thursday afternoon.

Good information, thanks. I did reach out to the dealer just a little bit ago, and he is supposed to be checking with the managers once they are out of a meeting. So maybe they will have better info for me.
