Sumo Springs experience?

Recommended Posts

Considering Sumo Springs for my 2019 AT4.

I carry 1500lbs + of deer corn or fertilizer in my bed periodically and the rear sag is bad. I only have to drive about 10 miles loaded like that

Anyone with experience using Sumo Springs to lessen sag when the bed is loaded?

When I tested them on my Ram, they only had 1/4 inch or less of air gap, which means, any thing other than a small bump would cause the shocks to contact and begin compression and it totally wrecked my ride quality while unloaded. They are color coded, and I forget what color (blue vs black) I had, but they were the medium duty ones, possibly the lighter ones would be less stiff and jarring on contact.

Is that photo with sumo springs in use - you are right on top of the bump stop.  I have 2020 AT4 and tow quite a bit.

Been looking at this option to help with tongue weight of car trailer - have load leveling hitch and that helps a lot, but looking for something more.  Last truck (14 Raptor) I did Deaver spring pack and they custom tuned for tongue weight - so worked great, eliminated the rear block etc.  But $1,200 for spring pack, which is more than I want to spend if sumo spring will for a few hundred dollars.

Thx for any more info. 649394741_2020AT4w-trailers.thumb.jpg.2703ef3e644cd0af3c16d84403f6d586.jpg

Kyle, are those medium duty Sumo’s?

a yard of stone is supposed to be 2400 pounds. Is your truck a half ton?

currently I limit my loads in my half ton to 1500 pounds. But it sure would be easier to load a 2000 pound pallet of material (corn or fertilizer) at a time

yeah, I know that’s over payload capacity
