Programming of the 8100?

I just wanted to get everybodys experences on the different programs for the 8100's. I've been talking with Lyndon Wester and want him to do a pcm for me, but he said it might be summer before he has any 04 cores so he can send me one. I was also looking at the predetor and microtuner, but want to hear the skinny from some of the guys that have used each of these. Right now I have a volant cold air kit and a big block II flowmaster muffler. The truck has 285 BFG ta KO's and will flat spin the piss out of them now, but what can I expect with the programs from above. Thanks

I have the super chips for the 8100....there is a difference....you can feel it, barely....the biggest difference I found was the tranny shifts a lot firmer. besides that....I am getting my westers soon. If I had to do it again, I would have done my research better, and gotten a westers.....if not that, a preditor....just my opinion

i got the superchips programmer. i run the performance one on 87 octane. and it works great for me. maybe it's the 6 speed. i dunno.

What I would do is wait until the summer. I mean, its 6 months or so more to wait. Why would you want to spend $350 now on a handheld "paper-weight" and then look at upgrading to a real program later? I used to own a Superchips and I sold it quickly cause I was disappointed in its performance. Now I am waiting on the mailman to delivery my Westers tune. Lyndon can do some incredible things to the PCM, and the 8.1s are a huge engine with lots of HP to be gained from the custom programming.

Does anyone have some concrete dyno and mpg numbers before and after the Westers? I have not seen much. Just a lot of "seat of the pants" decriptions. Would be very interested in mileage differences too.
