spm1us
Hello, I just took delivery of my new 2021 GMC 2500HD SLT and would like to know what percentage tint y'all are using on your windshield, side and rear windows of your new trucks? I am told CERAMIC is the way to go for heat rejection and being in Florida that's at the top of the list for a black leather interior. If you have any pictures of your truck's tint job and percentage I would appreciate seeing them. Are y'all tinting the entire windshield or just a band at the top? Any problems with remote fobs after tint installation with remote function? I am concerned with getting the tint too dark and not being able to see well at night and backing up. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Thanks in advance for your help!!! I've got 20% on the front side windows, which is pretty close to what the rear factory windows are. As for the front windshield, I have 50% on the whole thing and can still see perfectly fine. No issues with fobs. My installer is a certified LLumar installer for 30 years and he told me he'd sale me the ceramic if i really wanted it, but it honestly didn't help with heat much more than regular smoke tint and sure wasn't worth the extra premium for ceramic. slj2008
50% windshield , 35% front doors , 5% rear doors & back & 5% strip top of windshield .
brockhals
I did 20% on the front doors which closely matches the rear. 35% on the windshield and can still see well at night. I also added a clear ceramic on the rear windows and sunroof to help with the FL heat.
Schmidty
I did 20% on front two windows and sunroof. No tint but ceramic on windshield and back windows to help with heat rejection. It definitely helped. My truck was a hot box before that!
CT Chevy Connoisseur
I did 20% on the sides and atop the windshield. 35% is legal limit in CT but generally nobody gives you a hard time at 20%
edgexcsp
35% on the side windows, its not quite as dark at the factory rear window tint but I tow a lot at night in the winter and I hate having to roll my windows down to see while backing up... wade_660
20 will get you very close on matching the factory rears as others have said. My personal favorite is 40% for a windshield. I’ve been tinting windows for 14 years and honestly don’t see the big deal about ceramic films. I sell it for people that insist but don’t see much benefit over a standard high performance film. I don’t have it on my personal vehicles if that says anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some guy came in with probably 30% on his windshield and couldn't get his car inspected. I did not know that tinting windshields was a thing except that one instance.
