would any one suggest Walnut balsting the intake?

Can I ask what issues you are experiencing to want to do this? Or are you talking preemptive maintenance? Have you looked into the cost? Have you thought about trying the chemical treatment? Just curious.....

ya just preemptive maintenance, i have run CRC Intake cleaner however just been doing some research and seen this walnut blasting was thinking if its work it, the shop near me quoted me $700 including gaskets and labor. i have just installed a Oil Catch can too

just wanted to see if anyone has done it and if it was worth it

Take the intake off first, then determine if you even need to do it.

I had mine off at 104k miles and I wouldn't even think about needing it for a long long time.

@ CAM........have you ever done the GDI spray carbon cleaner to your truck before the 104k miles? Did you do anything special to keep the intake valves clean?

Haven't done anything to it at all, no intake cleaners or catch can.

The AFM/DoD has been off for the last 11k miles and that's pretty much it. I made a thread about it. So you can see that there is build up because it's a GDI engine but nothing that would really worry anyone.
