You guys think 2022 model 6.6 GAS will get the 10A?

Good thought process and I think you are right, but I think timeline wise it will be kicked down the road.  Small cars, suvs probably be first as you can get your best bang for your buck.  The issue is with commercial heavy duty equipment,  the 2-300 mile range before charge just doesnt work.  Performance is there for electric, its just charging is the issue etc.  2035 we will see a lot more of this, but I have a feeling your really looking at probably 2050.  Lots of things have to change, peoples mind sets,  infrastructure, and even peoples homes.  Government does this and puts unfunded mandates in a sense on business and people.

Just picture this scenario, I am a heavy equipment operator for a large construction company. We do Water, Sewer, and storm drainage. The foreman drives an F-450 crewcab utility body 4x4. H e starts it at 4:30 am and doesn’t shut it off til 6 pm every day. He leaves it running all day to charge batteries and keep it warm or cool,plus another laborer uses to go to the yard to get things. It regens 2 times a day and burns 30-40 gallons of fuel. What electric is going to replace this! Nothing anytime soon. And by the way, aside from going through brakes and front tires this thing keeps on going despite 6-8 hours of idling every day.

Jeebus that's a lot fuel. My work truck with a 6.7 Cummins takes at least 2 days to burn 40-50 gallons and that's about 400-500 miles of driving with idling, it gets 10mpg no matter what.

My 2022 Silverado 3500 4x4 6.6 Gaser was ordered with the 6 speed Automatic, but no AFM!!!

Is that because of the chip shortage? Is the 6.6 gasser supposed to have DFM?

6.6 gas doesn't have AFM/DFM at all.  None of the GM gas HD engines have ever had it.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I had heard Ram started putting their version of AFM in the 6.4 in the 2500s but didn't think GM had gone that way yet.

lol yeah I would put a generator on a trailer and burn 10 gallons of fuel a day and if needed put a tent over it
