Long Trailers with TMPS Range Problems

Recommended Posts

Ok this may or may not work. I just came from my GM dealer parts depth and was asking info on the TMPS system which is located in back of the truck license plate. Well we found there is a antenna that is 2 wire fed. No special type of wires. He had in stock a connector AND a antenna ( OR I am hoping maybe a amplifier of some sort) for about $50.00. I picked it up. I am going to try and install this on my trailer about 10 feet back under the trailer. I WILL  have to verify the polarity as the terminals only has a number but a typical VOM should tell me what to see. If this works it may answer the question of amplifiers and getting our 3rd axle to work.

Thanks

Chuck

How long is your trailer? I have a 48' gooseneck triple-axle horse trailer and just received modified valve stems for the trailer TPMS sensors to go into the tires. Was curious whether or not length might be an issue to read the trailer tire pressures.
