Garage opener link with universal remote

I just traded in my wife’s 2017 Buick Enclave for the 2020 Buick Enclave. When I trained the new Enclave to connect to the garage door opener (Genie) it disconnected my 2019 GMC Sierra. I then reprogrammed the Sierra and the Enclave disconnected. I went back and forth 4-5 times and cannot get both vehicles to work. Ideas?

Kind of sounds like your GDO might be the problem, how old is it? Do you have the manual for it, maybe that might give you a clue as to what is going on.

How many devices (cars, external remotes, keypads, etc...) do you have connected to your garage door opener?

 

The reason I ask is that your memory on the opener is probably full, since it still remembers the old vehicles and such. I would look up the instructions on resetting the memory on the garage door opener and then reprogram the vehicles and the clickers that you have.

 

I had to do the same thing last year when I bought my truck, as I have too many devices and the garage door opener cannot remember all if the devices that I have.
