Are OEM brake pads ceramic?

Recommended Posts

I recently did a front brake job on my ‘14 and couldn’t help but notice that the original pads have metallic flecks in them. My last Silverado had ceramic pads that lasted 190k miles. I only have 73k on this one.

Have 130 K on my ceramic pads and Nitrite rotors. More than half thickness left. Zero issues. Stop on a dime and give nine cents change. Have never grabbed. Rotors look new yet. How much do ya what from your brakes?

Could you share the brand or part numbers that you used? Thanks.

GM has three lines of brake parts. Use your VIN and ask for the OEM Direct Replacement parts. It is what they were manufactured with.

You do not want the Professional nor the Advantage lines.
