Yes I know there is a lot of info. I personally haven't had issues with mine. I have seen a few were they can't get engine/emission issues resolved. I just wanted to see for us who own one, how many people are having issues since it's a new engine

No problems with the 3.0 duramax motor . However I just took mine in to the dealer for transmission fluid leak . They are going to race the torque converter seal. I’m not to happy about that.

Diesels are prone to problems with all of the emissions crap the government requires. My last vehicle was a 2017 X5 35d and I had EGR valve and pump issues immediately after taking delivery. About a week at the dealer to replace the defective parts and had good performance thereafter. Before that I had a Benz diesel and drove it 70k miles with zero issues. So all told I have about 7 years and 100k miles of experience with diesels albeit German diesels. Started out looking for a Sierra 1500 diesel but ended up with the 6.2 and am happy with it. The days of the V8 are numbered and since this is my first truck I went all in. That said, the GM 3.0 Duramax is a well made inline 6 and has a good rep so far.

What I miss the most about the diesel is the range. Could get close to 700 miles on the Bimmer and the Benz. Will take 2 tanks to get that with the 6.2!

I’m getting anywhere from 23-27MPG in town. On the highway I can get 31-32 MPG with the 3.0L Duramax. Not bad considering my previous Ram gas truck was lucky to get 13MPG in town.
