2wd front lift

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know if there is a way to lift the front of a 2wd 1500 1-2" to help level it? I will not lower the rear, I like the stance of the 4x4's which are about the same height in the rear and a little taller up front (they sit more level).

Ford and Dodge trucks have spacers you can buy to put over the top of the coil springs to get 2" of lift, but I cant find them for my chevy. I assume this has a little to do with the shocks, I like the idea of adding a small spacer and replacing the shocks so I could get something just a little stiffer at the same time. Any ideas?

OK, so Daystar makes a 2" spacer lift for the front of the 1999-2003 silverado 1500 and its part number KG09101 in case anybody else is interested. Often that part number is listed for the 1988-1998 c/k1500 and it says you need aftermarket controll arms. Thats not needed for the 1999+ trucks and I dont know for sure yet but I think you can use the stock shocks too. This part is not listed very many places, kind of hard to find. Even the daystar webpage denies that it exists unless you look really really close, and then it looks like a typo. They might make a 1-1/4" spacer too but I am not too sure. Thanks for the info.

Hi, I installed DAYSTAR bushings under my front coil springs. Looks real good. Nice and level. I have the step-up as you Silverado, 2001, v6, 5 speed, reg. cab, but with a sportside bed. Just one thing, this is not a backyard projet. Hell of a job!

I had a suspension shop do it. A couple hours. I like result and now i'm getting a 3" body lift kit. BUT i'll have to wait for spring. No garage and with 3 feet of snow.

Silverback.
