Justinriek40
Hello everyone, I’ve been trying to figure out my running light issue for a few months now but haven’t gotten very far. I purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500hd with the “new” style towing mirror already installed. Noticed when I got home that the lights on the front of the mirror (on both mirrors) were not illuminating with the running lights of the truck. My blinker light on the glass works as normal on both mirrors. Got curious one day & took one mirror apart. Did some research & found that the mirrors must be aftermarket because they do not use the torx bit screw for the shroud behind the glass instead they use a Phillips head screw. Everything was plugged in & looked normal. I have verified the lights on the front of the mirrors do work because when I unlock the truck with my fob they come on with the running lights, but when I actually start the truck they turn off. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Mikemikemike35
I’m in the same boat. Haven’t checked to see if they’re aftermarket yet. Have you figured anything out?

Mikemikemike35
Thanks, I found out that they’re after market mirrors and don’t have the correct wiring harness to get all that working. My understanding anyways.
MagicDragon252
I’m having the same problem. Does anyone know where to find the right harness or if I can just rig a jumper wire some where. I have a 17 Sierra and the marker lights work but as soon as I shift from park they turn off. I’m on the fence if switching out to power folding mirrors too but for now if there is a easy fix I would like to go ahead and do it.
