It’s not a goodbye but a see you next time.

I had a 2017 Silverado Z71 2LT Double Cab. I had it for just over three years. I loved the colour (not the paint thickness) and aside from a starter I have no absolutely no issues with it. I got it new and loved the truck. A few days ago my daughter was born and I did not like the rear facing car seat sitting in the middle. I know it can fit elsewhere but the front occupant is fairly uncomfortable. I ended up trading it in and am now driving a 16’ Tundra Crewmax (I like them, I know people think they are ugly). This is my first foray away from GM. They’ve treated me good and I will more than likely return. My only real gripe I had when looking at the new ones was the packaging... why would you put a truck out without power seats these days.... just a gripe.

I’ve enjoyed this forum and will likely continue to lurk. Everyone has been very helpful with any questions I’ve had. Thank you folks.

Congrats on your new addition (baby, not truck [emoji28]) !!!

Stay safe and enjoy the moments when they are curious about everything and are amazed at everything [emoji16]. I miss my kids when they were little, but no way I'm giving up my double cab now.. [emoji28].

Congratulations!  Your post reminds me of myself 40 years ago selling my '77 Ford Regular Cab for an '80 Ford SuperCab!  It took me more than a decade but soon you'll start to appreciate how brilliant the mini-van (or SUV) design is for a young family!  Kids travel with lots of stuff that they need as soon as you put your foot on the gas.  You will find visits to Walmart et al increasing and the advantages of those closer parking spaces will become more apparent.  Kids will also make you look at your budget in an entirely different and permanent manner.  Fuel costs will make a difference.    The best scenario is to have a Yukon XL (Suburban) and a High Country in your driveway like my son!  The best his father did was an Aerostar and Sonoma(S10)!   Enjoy and cherish every moment as a Dad!

Ah.. the  good old mini-van days.. one reason my SS 64 Impala is still sitting in the garage with it's front end still off.. first it was my kids.. now  my truck is taking attention away from it.. :D

Congrats on the baby!  And the 2016 Crapota Tundra is much better looking than the previous gen.  The truck will serve you well, They are not too bad.  They have their known issues but no truck doesn't.

I had a tundra for about 5 years before my Sierra. It’s a beast. They just don’t have the creature comforts that gm and Ram does. If that stuff doesn’t bother you you’ll be happy with it. I never had a problem, Ive just always wanted a Sierra. So when I found the right one at the right produce I jumped. And Congrats on the kiddo!

I would have stepped up from a DC to a CC, but that's me.  You moved into a Tundra, and another guy just moved in from a Tundra.

Thanks everyone. I just got an email that someone reacted so I don’t mean to resurrect a dead or old post. I do miss my Chev, both trucks have their pros and cons in my perspective. Dad still has a 16 Chev and no garage, so he’s down here a bit when something needs to be fixed or replaced :).
