2020 LT Trail Boss

Picked up my new 2020 LT Trail Boss. It has 5.3, but what can I do to get a little more rumble in the exhaust. I want something that sounds smooth but nothing loud or drones at all.

Sounds like you want to either do a catback exhaust package ($$$), drop in a new muffler ($$) or you can cut the muffler out and replace it with a straight pipe ($).

The best option here for minimizing drone is a catback system.

If you just want more noise, replace the muffler. Tons of choices there.

I like the GM Performance catback system. Currently driving cross country in my truck, and the sound hasn't bothered me at all. It's quiet when cruising, but when the truck downshifts due to climbing a hill you get a little rumble. Feel like standing on the gas peddle? You'll let everybody know you have an exhaust and a V8.

I agree on the cat back. Save up your money and do it the right way. I currently have the Corsa Sport in my high country. Zero drone. GMs performance exhaust is a Borla Touring or you can get the S type from Borla. A little more aggressive but Both very good. I also had Gibson on my last truck. 2018 Sierra with 6.2l and it sounded amazing. They just didn’t make that exhaust for my standard bed truck this time around. All 3 are very nice and I can only comment on them because I have had them or heard them in person. Good luck and congrats on your purchase.
