FYI if you’re running stock rims, the tires get really close to the UCAs. I have 295/70/18 on mine and here’s the clearance on it. Maybe 1/2” the most. I would bet that any wider would touch the UCA. b0969f0e5169e798eebea5d36f2b9929.jpg

Thanks for the pictures and information. That tire is getting really close to the UCA. I'm thinking about going with KO2's on my TB with standard 18" rims. Do you think these will fit with no problems? Stock TB suspension and will be putting either a  RC 1.5" level kit or a motofab 1" level kit. Haven't decided which on of these to put on yet.

  • Size: LT295/70R18
  • Side Wall: Black
  • Overall Diameter: 34.3"
  • Load ID: E
  • Max Load: 4080 lbs
  • Tread Depth: 15/32
  • Max PSI: 80
  • Speed Rating: R
  • Tread Type: All Terrain
  • Max Rim Width: 10
  • Tire Weight: 69.4 lbs

295s should be fine since majority are 11.6” wide but BFG KO2s doesn’t have that size. Use the link below to find the tire and look at the exact specs for each brand/model. Mine cleared on the stock rims and stock TB suspension. I was planning on the installing my Motofab 1” level too but I’ll avoid the UCA failure risk by doing the ReadyLift 1.75” with new UCAs. I’ll have to upgrade my rims with different offset to avoid it from rubbing the UCAs.

I thought the same before but when I contacted America’s Tire they said the tire size didn’t exist. I also tried searching that part number on BFGs site and it doesn’t have anything under that part number.

Well ok then! That kind of sucks lol. I'm coming from a Gen2 raptor with K02's on it and I absolutely loved the tires. They were good on the trails and almost zero road noise rolling down the highway.

What size K02 you think is the biggest I can put on my TB with RC 1.5" level kit with zero lock to lock rubbing and ok with UCA?

I hear ya. I’ve done nothing but KO2s on my previous trucks and they are the BEST tire I’ve owned. The stock Wranglers are trash so I guess anything would be an improvement. I’m using Falkens now since it was the size I was going after and it had the best look and price was amazing (buy 3 get 1). I’m not sure if the KO2s in 305 would rub on the UCAs but you can always get 6mm spacers to push it out. Outside if that, the biggest one that will clear for sure in KO2 is 285/65 but that’s only 32.5” tall x 11.5” wide.

If I went the K02 305 route, how far would you think they would stick out using a 6mm spacer?

How would you compare the Falkens to the K02's? Where and when did you get that buy 3 get 1 free?

I think the 6mm spacer will definitely allow it to fit since it allows .23” backspacing and your only adding .4” total for the whole tire. It won’t stick too far out considering it only pushes it .23” out.

The Falkens have been pretty impressive so far and a lot of great reviews out there too. Super quiet on the road. I haven’t been able to test it offroad or in the rain yet but again, good reviews on that part too. It has an aggressive sidewall for an AT. But remember that these are an E rated tire so it’ll run a little stiffer than the stock C rated Duratracs. The original price was extremely good for that size. It’s weird because other sizes for this tire runs expensive similar to KO2 and Toyo prices and in some cases the KO2 is cheaper than Falkens in some sizes. Now add that on top of a 3 for 1 sale made it a no brainer. The sale is back on for Labor Day. What I did is price matched American Tire Depot’s sale and got them at America’s Tire. Comes out to $175 per tire. Can’t beat that price!!!

Ive contacted a few companies , readylift said the trail boss can fit 35” tires on stock rims as long as you stay at an 11.5” tire. This will clear the control arm that readylift supplies.

Some tires measure differently but the manufacturer will typically post proper measurements in the details on the tire size . So confirm actual measurement , some guys are running tires that are almost an 1” wider than what the tire size depicts.

I got 35x11.5 coming in a Nitto Trail Grappler , they actually measure 34.76” x 11.42” as shown below.

if you are wanting to run wider tires you could try a spacer , I think between a 1” and 1.25” get you around the same tire poke as a 0 offset rim. 1.5” would give you a little more.  The simpler solution would be to stay below 11.5”.

just remember the more negative the rim offset actually makes less tire clearance not more , thats where you get into trimming.

Thanks for the great information. I just emailed America's Tire to see if they would price match the 4 for price of 3 that America Tire Depot is offering. I'll let you guys know if they will match or not. If they will, I will order these! Like you said $175.50 is a no brainer and can't beat that. If they don't match I will probably wait until K02's go on sale somewhere and get the 305's.

How would you guys compare the Falken Wildpeaks 295/70 compared to the Nitto trail grappler M/T 35/11.5?

Ride and road noise at highway speed etc?

I saw one member say the Falken 295/70 are actually 33.5 inches tall which is about 1 inch taller than factory tires (what he said). Are the Nitto indeed 35" tall?

The Falken 295/70 is actually 34.3”. I put it next to BFG KO2 35x12.50 and the height are almost exact which KO2 states theirs is 34.5”.

This is super helpful. Rookie question...will this be an issue when tires have been aired down for off road purposes?

That’s a good question. My guess would be no since it’s the bottom of the tire that gets pushed more than anything.
