Question

I got my 2019 HC in October of 2018 and my rear window started leaking last Friday (8/7/2020). I called the dealer as soon as I saw the water and I told them I had 36,8xx miles. I dropped it off Monday (8/10/2020) with 36,9xx miles and the dealer said that warranty will not cover the cost since I'm over my 36,000 mile bumper to bumper coverage. A service bulletin came out in February 2019 but since mine never leaked I didn't want them touching it. Am I wrong for saying that warranty should cover it since it is a known problem?

Update: I called and the seal was cracked and the rear window is separating. They are replacing the rear window and seals.

This will be the exact reason why I will have to end up dumping my truck or replacing the rear with a solid glass window at 3yr/36k miles.

They have already made three attempts to resolve this issue on mine in less than 9 mos.

GM has no plan to fix this defect properly and has not given any confidence to their customers nor provided transparency on their efforts.

New trucks are coming off the assembly line with this same part today and GM knows it has a problem.

The dealership has a body shop doing the repair and they are waiting on the new window. The dealership said gm has a new part number window that just came out. The window should be in and installed today and I will pick  it up Monday afternoon. Here is a picture of the truck. They didn't take the rear window spoiler off. The dealership also said they were going to ask GM to cover it under warranty. I have already called GM customer service and I have a case number for this.

I got my truck back today and it costed me $384 after I talked to customer care and the dealer. The dealer said they came to agreement with GM that I had to pay 40% of the total bill.  I didn't see the actual total to calculate the 40% so who knows. Here is the new window part number that they waited on. The window was built 7/29/20. The dealer said this was a new part number but I don't know. Maybe sooner one on here can tell me.

Sorry to tell you this, but that window is the exact same one they installed in mine in February as you can see our pictures match. Yeah, it was a "new part" over six months ago when it replaced the E2. However, my E4 leaked just over a week ago, there are others on this forum with leaking E4s, and you can see the updates I've posted in the main thread on this recently. You should check that they added the sealant on top of your new window as my dealer said that is now the current process even for replaced windows.
