Every thing I’ve seen or read about most mask are. You wearing a mask knocks back most of your germs. It’s not protecting you from the non mask wearing individual. Otherwise who would care. I wear one for the comfort of the other individual.

Quit paying attention to the stuff you read or hear from big sources. The spouse is a health professional, they where masks because is works both ways but mainly to protect themselves. Like I said most people wouldn't and didn't care thats why the caring about others crap was incorporated. It all boils down to none of this is actually that big a deal or that bad. Media and idiots created hysteria and panic over it. I mean its a lot of panic for a such a bad virus that 80% of people that get it won't even know, wow so scary.

Forgot to mention. You know those high speed specially fitted N95 and N100 masks medical professionals where not only at work but also where out when they are made to. They have valves on the front of them to help expel the persons warm breath when they breath out and its not filtered.

True for the most part. There are different kinds of mask. The general public mask wearers are protecting the other guy, generally.

Sturgis 2020 is another topic on the pandemic.  It is highlighted on the nightly news alongside the struggles to keep the pandemic under control.  Our news also showed a small group of local protesters encouraging us to fight the virus with hugs, not masks.  We also all know of people who subscribe to the George Carlin school of medicine.   And of course, there are the conspiracy/political factors determining the path for many.

I find the diversity in basic understanding fascinating yet frustrating. The practice of social distancing and mask use are very basic in dealing with an uncontrolled virus.  Six months ago, you would not have found me wearing a mask in public.  I seldom wore them even when doing filthy renovations.  Their increasing popularity caused me to ask questions and research.  Sometimes the "anti-mask" literature proved most enlightening.

I am not against Sturgis and it has been a long standing goal of mine to park my Harley alongside other attendees.  However, if you believe Sturgis 2020 is a good idea, yet angry at all of the Covid19 stuff,  you'd be surprised at how basic changes in behavior by the majority of people will arrest the spread.  Supporting Sturgis 2020 will only help to prolong the spread.

In the beginning Carlin was funny. Very funny. Then he became jaded. Followed by rude, then sickening and finally flat out dangerous. We saw him in one of his last performances in Joliet Illinois. 2/3 of his payed attendance walked out on him.

He got to have a Henny Youngman attitude. Henny would say, "I don't need to be funny, I'm Henny Youngman!"

Yea, at $60 a ticket you need to be funny. Carlin literally started a fight with a guy in the audience then had the bouncers subdue him. Coward. 5 seconds later we started filing out. He berated a guy whose child committed suicide..... then made sick sexual jokes about it.

Not a fella I would take medical advice from.

ahh good ol' Carlin, I use to be a fan when I was younger, than I saw he was becoming lost as he grew older, on top of his health and facing death.. Hollywood broke him and put him in his place , he might have came out with some money. it's important to know where he came from,  he came of age durring a fun time or freedom in the country, then reality pulled the raines on him. not too mention having a big mouth and opinion  didn't help him either. he was becoming angry old guy for good reason! he wasnt entirly wrong., which affected his comedy in the end, lost the magic and fun!

He was a Boomer ranter but not a boomer and was born in 37 as part of the Silent Generation. 2 years before WWII hit the world in he face. In 1954, at age 17, George Carlin enlisted in the Air Force, where he was trained as a radar technician and stationed in Louisiana. He was court martialed three times before later receiving a general discharge in 1957.

He was born ticked off and lord knows at what. Everything it seems. Mad him angry, didn't make him right.

Early on I did enjoy his rants on inconsistency in speech and reasoning from same. Hardly a Messiah.
