Is safety package worth it?

Yeah, for that I am just going to order the truck and get it exactly how I want it from the factory.

If you ordered now, wouldn't it be a 2021?    BTW Many (like me) would choose the red over the blue!

Anyway any advice would be helpful.

The Safety Package was important to me and I'm really thankful I stuck to my gut and got it. I do not have the heads up display or seat vibrating thing or 360 cameras. The package I have has the front and rear bumper sensors which I enjoy, and the blind spot monitor deal that light up on your side mirrors. That has saved me more than than once and covered the cost of the package!

I have over six years experience with all the gee-whiz technology and I've found that the front/rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert are the ones that really help you out.  Lane departure warning is more of a nuisance and adaptive cruise control has no value in Alaska.  I was going to special order, but when this truck showed up on the dealer's lot I did a little soul searching on what I really needed, and now I know I made the right decision, which saved me $10-15k.

Lol I chose red over blue.  Dealer gave me a deal I couldn't refuse.  2020 RST All star, Z71 6.2L 10 speed, leather, safety, sunroof, convinence I and II.  9K off.

My 2017 Sierra SLT had all the safety and convenience packages. When I traded it for my 2018 Sierra with the 6.2L, I gave that up and it didn't offer it. I didn't care about the lane departure, but I missed the driver alert and cooled seats. My new High Country Silverado has it all and I won't go back. The driver alert with the HUD is awesome, and the cooled seats are a must in the summer with black interior. The lane departure is better than it was on my 2017. Especially with the size of these hoods, and just sheer size of truck, having all these safety features, really makes parking easier.

My little sister was back yesterday and drove the truck and at first was very overwhelmed by size of truck, but after being in it, parking it with the camera (all of the different angles you have on tap) she felt very comfortable.

I survived 40 years of driving without it and survived just fine, don't need a computer to tell me anything. Not worth the cost i.m.o.

I've been driving for over 50 years and I will never buy another vehicle without the latest technology.  Besides, pretty soon all this will be required anyway, so you might as well get used to it.  I got my first technology-laden vehicle six years ago and it made driving easier and safer.

I’ve driven vehicles with adaptive this and all that. If I can’t find a Luxery car without most of that or an older one in good shape . At 65 I’ll rebuild an old one without all that. It’s unnerving to me. I pay attention to the road not devices.
