Best year for used 6.0 3/4 ton

Recommended Posts

I looked for existing thread on this question and couldn’t find it. I need a 3/4 ton crew cab with 4wd. I can’t afford new or the duramax at the moment. So going used and want to ask what is the best year?

I am looking at 2003 with all the above and he’s asking 11k. 144k miles. Pretty good condition. Hoping to get some insight into that year or if there is a better option to look for.

Thank you

I guess I should have said I’m trying to stay on this price range. That’s why I’m asking. I don’t know these older models. Need something to last 3-5 years of construction work.

Ideally 2011-2014 would be the oldest I would go as an overall type of thing for the bigger frame, brakes, 6 speed, etc.  Much heavier duty than the 01-10 trucks.

If you want to stay in the 01-07 body style range, I'd go 03-07 classic.  6.0 got aluminum heads i think in 02 but the 03-07 interior is better than 01-02.

2007 4L80E 4 speed automatic was replaced by 6L90 6 speed automatic.  2007 6.6L also got VVT.  New chassis, front axle and suspension in 2011.  I think 2011 and newer is better if it's in your price range.
