HARD TONNEAU

Recommended Posts

As much as I like the design and the sleek look of these track mounted tonneaus, They weren't going to work out for me. I haul a couple 30.5 inch wide kayaks in the bed and the tracks encroached on the width. So I choose to go old school top rail Extang Solid Fold 2.0. Not as pretty but does the job.

I have the A.R.E. Fusion. Came pre painted to match exterior truck color. Very happy with minimal water leaks.

Hi MCM3M

Do you have a picture of the Fusion on your truck?

I really like the fusion but it looks difficult to remove if needed?

The LoMax and the fusion are my top picks so far.

Cheers

Just got a 2020 AT4 same color. How does the Solidfold work with the multi pro and auto drop tailgate.

I had the Extang on my 2016 Denali I just traded in and it did me well.

I'm stuck, and mostly just want something lockable.

Remove two clamps up front and lift completely off (might need help lifting).

Here are a couple of pics...

The seal on the cover bears down on the top rail of the tailgate. The auto drop feature is hindered by this. It unlocks then you have to give it a little help then it come down on its own.. I'm assuming just about any cover will do that to make a good seal. I've only had it on a couple days maybe the seals will soften up over time.  As far as the Multipro everything seems to be functional, but once again it may need a little tug to get top to open with the tailgate up. Other than that I really like the cover.  I had Extang Trifecta Soft Folds on my 14 and 16 The Solid Fold is a definite upgrade.

Went with the Roll-n-lock A-Series today!! UWS under tonneau utility chest fits great underneath.

I’m a big fan of the retractable roll up style and the RNL fits snugly in a small canister.

I put my 6-month old Bakflip Fibermax for sale in the classified section in case anyone’s interested on 30% off new price!

Awesome bed cover.  I am researching bed covers again since it appears that Steffens Automotive, the maker of fold-a-cover has closed permanently.  I really like this ARE cover! The website doesn’t list this cover for a 2020 GMC 2500 HD though.  Have any of you seen one like this on a 2020 2500 HD?

The GM Cover sucks.  I have the hard folding one i believe it's from Rev.  $1,000 cover, it's not water proof, has big gaps in the corners, you have the add a bunch of weatherstripping, and....mine is actually drilled through the bed rails and not clamped so i have zero adjustment.  If i knew that ahead of time i never would have gotten it.  It's also a PITA if you ever need to uninstall it quickly to get full access to the bed. The dealer installed it like garbage, and it was preventing my tailgate from closing all the way.  I had to take the folding part off, then take a dremel and grind our the clamp slots since I cannot adjust the alignment due to the rails being bolted to the bed rails.

The upside is that it is lockable, and it opens up at the bulkhead as well which is extremely convenient!

Would you buy this again? I just posted without seeing your picture.  Is this the M series or A series? I'm looking to replace my current cover and would like one like yours. Any chance you can send a picture of it rolled up into the canister so we can see it's size in relation to the bed and clearance below to the deck? THANKS!

Sorry I missed this been on vacation  Looks like you already got one congratulations.
