2022 Trucks

Recommended Posts

Same for me. 38 gallon with Toyota, 33 gallon with Ram, 36 gallon with Ford, and 24 gallons with Chevy 1500. Doubt they will provide a larger gas tank and with federal regs you cannot buy a larger aftermarket replacement tank anymore.

I also prefer the headlights on the new F-150 that look like they can actually illuminate the road. My 2011 Silverado 2500HD has great headlights that are perfect for dark country roads. The current Silverado 1500 truck lighting is so poor as to constitute a safety hazard.

At this point in time the 2021 Ram 1500 looks like the best truck overall, especially if one wants a good offroad setup that won't break the bank (unlike with Ford for example).
What federal regs? Titan still makes big tanks

Nope, that was the Sierra.

No it was the Silverado, my 14 silverado headlights sucked. Dad's 15 sierras headlight were good. My 17 Silverado and 18 Sierra's headlights are great though.

Specifically, GM was sued over the 2014-2015 GMC headlights. The Silverados weren’t much better but were not a part of the suit.

Yup. I didn't think the halogen projectors on my 14 LTZ were that bad. They obviously weren't as good as the LEDs on my 2016 LTZ or my 19 SLT, but they seemed adequate at the time.

Titan does not make tanks that replace the factory tank for gas engines. They make replacement tanks for diesel engine powered vehicles. One can get a gravity feed tank that takes up space in the bed of the truck but that is not workable for me as I want the entire bed available and I want to use a cap on the truck.

I checked as I wanted a larger tank for a Silverado 1500 truck and so I phoned and spoke to them directly.

Anyone see this?

Doesn't look like much of an exterior update to me. Obviously new wheels and tires on the TB here, but also has the 360° camera option now, from the looks of the mirrors here.

The interior is where most of the refresh will be done.  The outside will get mild updates as typical in a mid-cycle refresh.  GM is taking a pounding on the interior and it is deserved.  Ram and Ford interiors are much nicer, even though the Chevy interior is functional.

The anticipation is that the interiors of the trucks will be similar to the 2021 full size SUV's.

I've sat in the new 2021 Yukon, and I have to say it's very nice.  If GM goes that route, I think a lot of people will be satisfied with the interior.

No, they took out the buttons for the rear doors completely, that's why I am glad I have a 2019. I am always using that button to get my bags of groceries in the back seat. My friend's 2020 High Country doesn't even have it, only in the front doors. My lowly RST has it on all four doors. Even if the 2022 had an upgraded dash, I probably wouldn't go for it. Gotta have that button on the rear doors! All day long, I'm making errands and putting stuff there.

My 2020 SLT has rear door buttons.

Yup. One of the reasons the Sierra has real advantage for me over the Silverado even though I personally prefer the look of the Chevy but I can really see myself using the buttons on the back door with kids etc.

100% with you. The interior needs the major over haul. Another question for me is will the engine line ups finally get some HP/TQ bumps after 8 model years

My WAG for the interior is that they will largely leave the center stack alone. They’ll stretch the screen out to the sides from its current place to make it the same size as the SUVs. This will mean very little re-development of interior materials. Mainly just some adjustments on the top of the center stack for the vents currently on both sides of the screen.

The other thing they’ll improve is the dash display, which - to me - is worse than the center stack. It’s so incredibly boring, especially if you do not have the 8” DIC screen option. They need more digital and less analog, IMO. Or to push the analog to the sides and create a bigger, more appealing center DIC - like RAM and Ford have.
