2020 Silverado 5.3L programmer or tuner

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found a programmer that works yet? I just put 35s on my truck and i was under the impression that the superchip flashaq f5 would work but upon my shop talking with superchip it does not work. Its kind of confusing cause their website when generic searching does show that it fits but when you search by make/ model it does not. So i need a programmer. I want one that will also allow me to turn off the AFM/ DOD. I see rough country has one for tire recal but its inline which im not super excited about

someone mentioned black bear? but havent seen anyone do it yet

Anyone? what are you guys doing for recal?

As fast as I know nothing exists yet.

The ECM is encrypted, module to module communication is encrypted (ie ECU to BCM). And flash updates require a secure handshake with GM's servers.

Dealers can update tire size HOWEVER it must be an OEM size and they can only go UP not down with rim size. Meaning 20 up to 22 (with OEM tire size). However they cannot go 22 to 17 for instance. That update has to be approved by GM as well and is done over the secure network with GM's Corporate servers. No calibration information is present at the dealer level.

The implication is that you buy GM wheels and tires but it isn't explicitly stated that you have to.

Well dang. Hopefully someone can crack these computers soon. Why does GM gotta make it so difficult.

I haven't been on the highway to see how bad it is but in the city no issues so far.
