Thanks Mother Mary, wouldn't want to give customers options and choices, better to force them into a 3-4k average more expensive truck they don't need. Funny how all the other makes seem to find room to give their customers an option for what fits them best. It is almost like gm doesn't want me as a customer anymore. Not to mention lol at the people who say the club cab worthless bed option or the regular bed option which is nearly impossible to find and makes the truck look terrible is better then the double cab option. The double cab cost a good bit less then a club and looks ten times better, the proportions of the double cab are correct to me, the club cabs all look too stretched imo.

FYI, this is a club cab.

No Troll.

Just don't see why more people can't figure it out with double cabs? There is no way you are telling me most people on here have 4 grown adults that they are transporting on a regular basis. And yet there are how many people on the road in pickups. I think it just speaks to the "Poser" level of most people

I could care less what someone else does with their money. But I have every right to laugh...
You ever try fitting a rear facing car seat in the back of a double cab? I dont need the bed space, short bed is enough, I do need the interior space for my kids. When did you get to decide what is right for everyone else anyway?

Club cab, crew cab whatever obviously people here understand i'm not comparing a 1976 model to a 2021!

Regardless i find it funny that the last guy is telling someone "When did you get to decide what is right for everyone else anyway?" while not even one word before it saying this "I don't need the bed space, short bed is enough, I do need the interior space for my kids." lol hypocrite much...

"This is not directed at you Cpl"

I'm not here to fight over what is better because in my opinion the double's are the best looking while at a better price point, and "I" got that as in "myself" not you or anyone else here but "I" find it absolute #@#@ that GM now deems what i like not worth building anymore! Let me sulk dammit, gm just essentially forced me to other brands the next time i buy something.

Lol. 6 pages of comments on the "2021 Changes for 1500" and 5.5 of them are about the DC/CC comparison. ??‍♂️

Anywho... yeah, pretty vanilla "changes" for the 2021s. As a 2019 owner, it puts a smile on my face. Now my truck is 2 years old, but is 98% the same as a brand new one.

Delaying a refresh to 2022 (or '23 now?) is a conservative, and probably smart, move by GM. The new F150 is a yawner, and RAM is coasting along, too.

Then again, maybe I feel good about this because I now have another 12 months of not having to talk myself out of trading in for a refreshed model. ?

F150 kills it in sells ..And its a Yawner ? lol you dont think they will gain market share back with their new model/options?

And RAM has had the best 18 months ever in their history  .

Cmon guys, i get we all drive GM trucks and love our GM trucks but some of the homer comments on this board are really funny.

Like I said, there shouldn't be anyone without a family of four adults in a CC. And if you have a family of four grown people, why would you buy a pickup. For the last time, makes zero sense.

Well, we can agree on that!

For one scenario you are citing your CC paying dividends? GTFOH

Most of those guys aren't in half tons. And once again, extreme outlier scenario.

So, when I have 4 grown adults in the Cab, I should go by a car and have 2 vehicles when 1 would suffice, It makes no sense for the double cab to someone carrying any more than 2 adults and 1 poodle.

Edit: GM sells crew cabs with standard beds, the same bed on the double cabs, your point is moot.

I called the GM 2021 updates vanilla; called Ford's a yawner (which it is... barely a body style change there - unless you wanted your F-150 to look like a T1 Sierra, I guess), and RAM coasting along with their new platform, too. Nothing about my comment had anything to do with sales.

Well, I take that back... GM won't sell ME a 2021 with these updates. ?

I have.  In fact, it's currently installed, along with another child car seat right beside it.  Then there's normally a 60 lb dog in the backseat, too.  No problems at all.

Personally, I didn't want to spend the extra few grand to have the privilege of being the DD on golf outings while my buddies ride in comfort all the time.

And extended/double cab proportions always look better than crew cabs.

I think you forgot the 'IMO' there. The Crew Cab is better looking to these eyes.

I wish GM would keep making the high-trim Double Cabs, it's good to give the customer choice. But GM is a business, they are here to make money. They obviously feel they weren't selling enough of them to justify the cost of continued production. When was the last time you saw a Double Cab LTZ/SLT/AT4 on a dealer lot? I'd bet the vast majority are special ordered anyway. I know there are a lot on this thread that think the Crew Short is worthless, but it's what sells.

How am I a hypocrite? I didnt tell the other guy what works for him, he has been telling everyone that wants a crew cab and doesnt have a standard bed they are wrong.

He can buy whatever he wants and needs, no one is telling him he cant. I need something different from him (as do a lot of people, this is why they offer different options) and he shouldnt be dictating what is right for anyone other than himself.

Long time lurker but I think the guy is trying to say that it makes no sense to buy a short bed if you have any intention of using it as a truck. By that same logic I'm not too sure that a short bed is much more functional than a mid-size SUV with the back seats folded flat.

I usually like the look of double cabs/ extended cabs better but the T1 DCs look funny to me.

I'm currently in the process of trying to find one I like for the right price as I already have a 2018 dc, but the T1 double cabs are the best looking trucks on the road right now

yeah that guy is kind of a dick how he said it, but the point is true. You would be better off with a large SUV with folding back seats if your goal is to Carry around 4 people. I owned GM trucks for the past 35 years and it is kind of a joke to watch all the mall trucks. i guess in todays day and age everyones a badass and you aren't allowed to prove otherwise. Back in the good ole days those people would have been ridiculed

Jeezus, go make another thread about Double Cabs already!

Last Friday I went in to order the new '21 (GM is replacing my '20 due to Lemon Law), and so far I haven't heard anything back.  My '20 was an SLT w Max Tow and 6.2L, but of course for '20 you couldn't get the Trailer mIrrors or the Tech Pkg on the SLT (made no sense GM!)  But, according to the order guide, you can for '21.  So I have a '21 SLT 4x4 CC with 6.2L, Max Tow, every major option except sunroof, plus the Tech Pkg and Trailer Mirrors!  I am HOPING that GM doesn't send a rejection notice to the dealer, fingers are crossed it can be built like this!  Will keep you posted...

Except I can throw dead animals (that I have hunted not road kill), mulch/dirt, construction debris, tree branches in there and still have my back seat.  In most SUVs golf clubs wont even fit without folding seats down so four golfers cant drive together in that scenario (who wants to have to designate TWO sober drivers let alone one).
